OUR STORY
Rumor has it that when the monks of Bordeaux clarified wine with egg whites, they handed the leftover yolks to the good sisters, who mixed them with milk, butter, sugar, flour and a bit of rum in little beeswax-coated copper molds that sat in the fire for hours and hours.
The result was a myteriously delicious pastry - crunchy and caramelized on the outside, and custardy on the inside.
"Like a portable creme brulee" is how one French chef described it. We think "instantly addictive" is how you'll describe it!
